Charlotte Stewart, a trainee within the firm’s Employer & Expatriate Tax Solutions (EETS) team, not only obtained a pass with distinction but also merited the award of the Chartered Institute of Tax Scotland Branch prize for the ‘Best Overall Candidate’ for her performance within the ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) examinations.

Charlotte, now Tax Analyst at AAB, graduated with a Law degree from The University of Abertay Dundee in 2009 before completing a Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Aberdeen. She joined the firm in 2011 after working as Service & Controls Manager at a
flagship branch of Santander in Aberdeen.

Eager to progress her career in tax quickly, Charlotte started studying for the ATT professional qualification in March 2012 as this route “short circuits” the time taken to study for CTA
(Chartered Taxation Advisor) as it allows students to commence these studies without firstly studying for CA exams. Having successfully achieved her ATT qualification, Charlotte is now studying to become a Chartered Tax Advisor.

Richard Britten, Head of the EETS team, commented, “On behalf of the firm I’d like to congratulate Charlotte as this is a tremendous achievement and thoroughly deserved. Since Charlotte joined the firm she has continued to work hard and go above and beyond to learn and increase not only her technical knowledge, but her general business awareness as well. These exams are set to a very high standard, so to receive the award of ‘Best Overall Candidate’ is a credit to the hard work and commitment Charlotte has shown whilst studying for the quali!cation. Charlotte has developed so much in her time at AAB and is a great asset to us and our clients.”

As well as receiving this award, AAB personally acknowledged Charlotte’s success by presenting her with an engraved ST DuPont pen.
