AAB’s Training Team have developed a course providing an overview of the direct and indirect tax considerations when trading overseas. The course will highlight opportunities and value adding actions as well as identify any traps and pitfalls when operating overseas. The course will cover the undernoted matters:
- Overall tax objectives of the international projects
- Understanding the project
- Review/amend onerous contract tax terms and conditions
- Understanding and minimising overseas tax exposures
- Factoring in additional tax costs and tax compliance costs/bid price
- Minimising risk of overseas tax compliance failure
AAB is here to help with the often complex and time consuming tax matters which can occur when operating overseas. It is important that the cost of taxes (direct and indirect) and also the compliance costs are considered early in the process and are fully understood. If these are addressed up front at the bidding/planning stage of the tender process this can avoid any nasty or costly surprises in the future.
The course is aimed at in-house accountants, finance, legal, contracts, tendering and HR managers and directors, as well as relevant senior management who are involved in commercial and financial implications of operating overseas.
The course will be delivered in AAB’s Aberdeen office principally by Helen Brown, Director and will include an overview of tax technical issues to consider as well as practical examples. Helen Brown has recently re-joined AAB having spent 10 years in house responsible for tax compliance and advising on international tax aspects of operating overseas. Alistair Duncan, Head of Indirect Tax, will present on indirect international tax issues and has significant experience in providing innovative indirect tax solutions for clients across a number of sectors.
The course is schedule to run on Tuesday 13th February 2017 from 9am – 12noon. The cost of the course is £250 per person, £200 for each additional delegate per organisation (excluding VAT).
